    totally agree with Tony

Jeff, you are going to have to do some research and try to find a contact "Water Edge" to try and get some vintage pic of the 40 in front of the building or just to see what they have. Sure you will not have the original car, just most of the original body..

A quick google search turned up this address. I don't know if it's the same place or not but you could call them.

Sawzall, I think I just heard someone whining about how the internet screwed up flea markets. Seems to be OK for you, congrats on the find. I was in THE woody shop in upper Michigan last summer. I have a business card around here somewhere if you need any parts. He fabs up complete woodies and his work is perfect. Really nice guy too.

Amagansett is all the way out to the East end of Long Island on the South Fork.......just before Montauk and a stone's throw from the Hamptons.......you got yourself some very high class wood there!!

Jeff i didn't know you were building a 40 Ford woody. I'll see if I have any other parts you may need and let you know. It just amazes me how people tear apart a car because someone says its not good enough or a 100 point car.

Nice score! Nice to see cast off stuff put to good use. There is a VERY NICE '39 Woodie a few towns south of here, I'll post a few photos when I find them. I think I have a few of the stainless steel capped carriage bolts from a Woodie around here somewere. PM me your address.

    Congratulations Jeff! What a score.

I love the way that chassis sits. Looks like a hard-core long-hauler.

    Awesome.

I also was scratchin' my head about the Olds Woody showing up in the Classifieds.
    This certainly explains it!

Congrats on the awesome score, Jeff.

    That's some nice lookin' lumber.

Holy crap! Congrats man. I have a friend that knows more about Ford woodies than God. Seriously. Let me know if you need to talk to him.

Great find to move your project forward! You probably saw this at Carpenter's space, but I see you don't need it.

Congratulations. That's about the nicest woodie find I've seen.
And great that it got to the end user, not a dealer.
Talk about being in the right place at the right time !

Damn nice find. I usually end up on the other end of the spectrum. I went to look at a '40-something Ford woody. NO wood left, and only a vague collection of rust particles still stuck together resembling the outline of a car. I probably could have shaken it over an envelope and mailed it home. Do you want some salt to pour in my open wounds now? :)

Nice score sazall. Damn, I thought you were selling the olds because you need room for my 50! I think you have as many projects as I do!

  23. That is a great score. Congratulations.

A friend of mine used to own Automotive Restorations, though he has passed on since. They do some top-notch restorations, but I can't believe anybody would get rid of wood like that. They have restored a couple of woodies though, a real neat Bentley and a 49 Sportsman Convertible. Saw the Bentley, cool car.

    Good luck on that project.

Sawzall, what a find! I inherited my Wood and it's not in as good a shape!
I wish i could have kept all the original parts, but it just wasn't structuraly sound.

    Jeff,

Just surfing old post and ran across your post. Very cool it keeps me very stoked to see others making it happen. How much did you have to pay for the wood? I want to come out to Hershey some time sounds like a lot of fun. Joe
