Read most of the thread. This is a good thread. Love pics and showing us/me how you do things. Subscribed.
I am learning as I go. But shitty tools don't help either. Like my crappy h/f bead roller and unmatched dies they provide you with. So there is still a learning curve. And these sort of comments are what I need to carry on! Thank you.
A lot more progress on the merc lately. It's the only thing I have been working on. placing the gas tank building some floor around it starting the floor over the notch trap doors for access to the air bags complete with fasteners to hold them down and keep them from being noisy accuair leveling system and tank/compressor mount from the inside rear seat still needs the arm rest installed with the front seats installed my 2 year old approves! started placing thisngs where I wanted for the center console. WARNING THIS IS NOT 100% HAMB FRIENDLY! There is going to be throttle body injection on it... then I got started on the steering column. The guy that owns this is about 6'6" or so maybe taller and weighs about 300-320 lbs. So he needs the room but I have to be able to drive it as well since he will not be state side for a bit longer. How will it get to ca shows otherwise right?! Anyway.. this explains the power driver's seat and the steering column location. the wood that you see for the console is going to be the buck to hammerform what I want rather than building it from wood. This pattern will be used to ensure that everything stays below the top of the comsole in the meantime to be sure everything fis correctly.
Feels good to be done with that part huh? Was so relieved to be done with school when I finished. But then comes the stress of finding a job!
Thanks a lot! I wish I did! I do somewhere I think but the hell if I know where. If I find them, I will post them for sure.
Shannon I'm in SoCal got a buyer 4 the T-Bird. Talk at you when deal is done. That Merc is looking great!
Just stumbled onto this thread and it looks like you have been very busy the last couple years Shannon. Very nice job on everything you have done and the merc is looking sweet already and a perfect chop.
Those of you on Facebook, Pot O'Gold Kustoms now has a new page at: https://www.facebook.com/PotOGoldKustoms
Thanks pete! Here are a few photos of some more stuff we have been building lately. This year is off to a great start! First some " kustom " work from a truck that a customer's brother in law was building for him before it got to me. YEAH.. well... so here is some of what we ended up doing. We built new rockers, floor, firewall, and toeboards from scratch for it. We still have a ways to go of course, but she looks good all mocked up.
And this is for ralph. Here you go buddy! and both pontiac quarter panels are tacked on now. Looks pretty cool!
