So, I'm driving around Syracuse N.Y. today in the pouring Rain and what do I come across ? ? ? This carrier is parked in a lot on the corner of Wolf St. and 7th North Street. Holy Shit. What a collection of KILLER Iron. No one was around. Believe me, I did try to get some info. on this load. I'm going back tomorrow to followup. Damn, (2) Caddy Convert's, (1) Caddy Coupe, (1) T-Bird Convert, (1) 1957 Chevy 4 Door, and a very nice Ford Fairlane Coupe with the California Black Plates still intact. I would appear that either one person has purchased this load -or- I would guess that they all came from the same place. Stay tuned.

    VR&C.

The Fairlane is a convertible hardtop, can't remember what they're called but that's what it is...All in all that load of iron looks like a ton of work to me.

There was truck driver and buyer from England that used to come to Colorado about once a year and load up cars about that same year designation. Dont know if it was true or not, but he was shipping them back to England for resale. It seem that they had a large American grafitti following, and needed the cars of that era specifically for there weekend cruising and dressing for the part?
Like I said it might be a myth.

Is that t bird front wheels parked on the front fenders of that caddy?

  15. The Eldo Brougham is what caught my eye. Brushed stainless top and unique coachwork. I think those were either made or designed in Italy if I remember right. Very cool old sedans. Cost more than a Rolls Royce in 57/58 when they came out.

I wish I could have met you , I took all that stuff to the recycling yard , I was gonna fix it up at on time , but , people kept trying to buy it , and I got aggrevated , and asked my buddtyto haul them off for me , he said he would haul them to the recycling yard for half of the money , the total brought $1500.00 , not too bad of a haul , huh?:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Those pictures scare me thinking that truck could be heading to the scrap yard especially the way that Thunderbird is loaded. But that Fairlane looks like it is in great shape, way too nice to be destroyed I would buy that one in a heartbeat if it was nearby. Wonder what the story is.

WHERE exactly in syracuse did you see that truck???????, I'm betting it's freind of my father's, and that defintly looks like his rig !!!!

  24. That Eldorado broughm - Wow. That is a rare and valuable car. In an old collectible auto mag I got they did a write up on those. Brand new in 57 they sold about 13-15 grand, and it cost more than that to build them - GM lost money on every one of them they sold (what was a 57 chev belair worth 1500?). And I' gonna say there was only less than 500 of them made. (now I gotta try to find my old mag) Needless to say it is very rare and worth big cash.

  25. I doubt if that load is scrapyard bound! Scrappers dont load their shit that nice!

Too answer some questions, It does appear that the T-Bird is loaded onto the Caddy ! ! !

The trailer has Ohio Plates on it.

Definately a bunch of Rare Iron.

    Thanks for the interest.

    I still have a Hard On ! ! !

  27. Im positive its somebody that knows exactly what they've got. The 59' Fairlane retractable is called a Skyliner, 59 was the last year for them. The 57 caddy converts are Eldorado Bairritz convertibles, 1800 made and they fetch well over 100k restored. The 58 Caddy Brougham on the bottom is big money no matter what condition it's in....even with a t-bird that appears to be parked on it.

With that T-bird up on the Cad., I'd say people trying to save cars don't load them up like that either. Might be looking at some future Walmart products.

I suppose the reason the T-bird is parked on the Caddy is because the hauler just wasn't built to have yesteryears long cars on it. Something had to be sandwiched, and it ended up being the Brougham. Those fenders aren't any different that other Caddys of that year, are they?
