Rescue my ass, the funkadelic paint is the best part of that car! You know someone's idea of "saving" it will be a full-on streetrod redo with a MII IFS kit, a crate motor, Tea's design seats, an Ididit tilt column, and wide whitewalls on 15x8 steelies so it's "traditional".

That car kicks ass and I bet it was an extremely high quality build, paint like that takes talent even if it's not your thing. I would preserve it just the way it is, changing/repairing only what was necessary to make it functional and safe again.

I'd have to roll it just like it is. Randy could you hear Tom now.... Shane WTF were you thinking. I'd leave it the way it is just for spite. That thing parked next to Tom's B-400 now that's a picture.( For those that don't know the guy that owns the company I am manager for has a beautiful 32 B400) lAter

I say the same thing about primered cars today.

    Each to his own.

    I'd keep the paint AS-IS.

Cracks me up that so many guys are afraid of colors.
    "They might think I'm ... g-g-gay!"

Give it me, I'll drive it.

you guys do realize that in the 70's, they were talking about redoing tacky 50's cars, right?? I think it's a real time capsule, and should be preserved.

Save it? Someone already did for 30+ years I'd say. Amazing the something as popular as a duece was never upgraded before now. I say this one onE-bay the other night, made me smile. I was a custom painter in the 70's and that was the style for sure. Laid done lots of color in those days, vans mostly but anything was fair game. The wheels too, that was the choice of the Gary Goldchains of the day, us poorboys had Cragers or slots. Hung up my paintguns when the fad ended, painting something solid red bored me.
If the paint job was on a 60's Econoline I'd keep it for sure but not a duece, fond memories or not.

I wish I had the money to get it,I would start all over with a new chasis with traditional suspension and put in my olds 324 and a 5 speed. I would paint it flat black with red wheels and a red leather interior or go red with a red and white leather interior and 5 spokes with white walls and never look back at the horrible 70s again. There's a '32 Chevy tudor with very similar paint that I see occasionally at midwest shows. I am always glad to see it has survived.

That '32 Ford deserves to survive. We have enough bright red cars, and enough primered cars.

Why, do we need ANOTHER fucking primered one?

  14. Flat black with red wheels, flat black with red wheels..........................................................................My god, with all the available colors in the world, and all you can say is flat black with red wheels? Hasn't THAT look been used, abused, mis-used, and re-used enough?

That would make a great drag car, but I say that about most cars.

Think of how much fun you could have torturing gold chainers and other Narrow minded folks. Can you see that thing parked next to some old boys fresh speedstar or boydtster. Hours of fun just sitting and watching their reactions.

  19. This is proof that too many people did drugs in the 70s.....I gotta go look at this its close enough to try and find, maybe I should sell my 39 pontiac

I like red and flat black so if it was mine thats what it would get, dark blue and possibly a dark green would work too. Jeff

Oh, man! that thing's a time capsule for sure! I'd tour car shows for a year with it just like it is, let people "enjoy" it, then bring it into the garage for a complete redo; full-fendered, early '50's. 16-inch steelies, bias-ply Firestones, banjo-quickie, split bones & dropped I-beam, early Olds Rocket, 4"s out of the roof,........................

Yep, definitely flat black with red wheels and spider web pin stripes, just like back in the day, bro.
