    Back in which day? 2005?

The flat-black and painted steel wheels fad is dead.

The car is cool, but the paint reminds me of something I flushed this morning.....

it's cool as hell, I wouldn't change a gosh darned thing.

Can you imagine all the stoned hairy muffed broads that have been poked in that back seat? It brings a tear to the eye of a child of the 70s.

Can you guys imagine how the bidding would go on a car like that if the auction had some kind of interactive feature that allowed the current high bidder to post what he planned to do with the car -

Bidder 1 - "I'm going to shave it clean, fill the top, F&R independent, full billet, etc"
Bidder 2 - "Leave it alone!"
Bidder 3 - "Flat black, red wheels, WW radials"
Bidder 4 - "Ship it directly to Boyd's shop"
Bidder 5 - "Part it out on eBay"
Bidder 6 - "Build a vintage dirt track car"

People would bid even higher to keep some other person of "ruining" the car in their eyes.....eBay should look into that....

It's already got independent......Jag. It was probably quite a car in it's day, build by Howdy Ledbetter. If I owned it I would repaint.......the fenders. Wonder if the colors could be matched?

Don't worry it will be bought and givin a new life. New interior, new paint maybe even a slick new drive train and some new billit wheels.
The only asshole willing to pay E prices has that instore while he watches the new American Hot Rod episode. If it was me I'd keep it like that it's cool in an ugly way.

keep the paint, lose the fenders and hood sides, chop the top (carefully as to not screw up anymore paint than needed), new wheels, possibly channel it, and drive the hell outta it, and if it doesn't have orange shag, it needs some!

that thing is far out..at least it would be different! its definitely a 70's survivor.

My uncle in NM is a retired machinist and he still has his van from the 70's. I remember it as a kid. They would all pile in it and visit us in LA. Its got shag carpet and a sink and a wild mural on the back. He's restored lots of cars before, and I guess he's bored being retired. he was telling me he wanted to redo the van but keep it all 70's style (that was his heyday when he was at his coolest). That thing will rock when its done! haha

    :)

    At least ...
Different folks have looked at it and maybe someone from here will end up with it. and it will not become a 1-800-billet-rod ... like this

If I owned it ... I would try to end up something like this

But then ... I like old black Fords with red rims ... :)

Or maybe turn it into a sedan delivery ...

  18. Is Not our theme here "Traditional Rods"?

This is a true survivor!! The 70's albeit, but it is most definitly a traditional hot rod! With the true original 70's class. the next generation rodders deserve to see every decade as they where built!

Keep it as it was built!

I have an 80's Dodge shagg'n wagon, velour seats, shag carpet and a string of SW gauges mounted on the dash. Even has a CB in it!!!

    Keep it with its time!!!
