Wish I would have scrounged the wrecking yards back in the 60's and put up several hundred sets for my portfolio, better return than the stock market !
It all depends on how bad you want them. Good housing go for around 600.00, the lenses are about half that much.
I'm curious what it would cost to have a pitted oem set restored...probably chew up a big chunk of that 1500.
Or you could jump on these, and have a spare http://www.ebay.com/itm/1956-Mercur...ash=item210aed9330:g:**YAAOSwUuFW1RrA&vxp=mtr
Thats just outta this world. For that Money I'd rather throw myself in a plane and attend the speed week or something of the sort.
Paul, your probably right,if a guy is trying to finish a nice car and this is the missing piece of the puzzle then you just might to have dig deep and spend the cash. HRP
I always divide the price by the years I think I will have the car and then it seems fair. $2,000 for a part I will have 20 years, only $100 a year, that's fair.
Both links say the tail lights are for a '56. Out of curiosity, how can you tell the difference between '55 and '56 merc wagon tail lights or is there one?
