Sometimes going to work pays off. . . I grabbed this at the LNG plant today, it'll be my radiator screen very soon. 20170601_124348.jpg

I drove my car tonite. It didn't break, it didn't make me walk home. It steers like shit, it leaked engine oil, fan oil (what the crap is that stuff?) and it leaked fuel. The brakes are rediculous, and exhaust was shooting flames and sparks! I need a beer. . . 20170602_211930.jpg

Cool that you drove it, even if there were liquids and sparks trying to escape from it.

At first when I saw it painted I thought, I would have left it alone, to show all the metalwork it took to assemble it. But the more I look at it, the more I like it. It's very representitive of it's period with the red paint, it looks really "right" that way.

I like it. You'll get those bugs worked out and it'll be worth it, it's a great car with a great story. Even when the work is hard or frustrating, you're still living the dream.

Sound like a ton of fun. One week left before the big event- keep up the hard work!

Ruts in the sand will keep it straight, just add oil won't have to change it, gallons of fuel are heavy and you'll get lighter as it leaks out, brakes just slow you down and you can roast your own weenies and marshmallows. Yup sounds like a hot rod to me!

My friend once told me that the bike shop he worked for had one slogan "Fuck it, race it! " I'd say that applies here quite nicely.

Do what you want, of course, but I think you will find that this material blocks a huge amount of air flow needed to cool the car. Put it in front of a house fan and see for yourself. Great project!

Took it out for a couple death rides today. Every time it got better. Mr. Bowling came by and we put on his 97. It works WAY better than my 94. Put the back end together. 20170603_201133.jpg

I am just getting it ready to race on the beach right now. Only reason I put the plate on the back is the huge rot hole behind it! Not sure what tail lights I am going to use. Probably a single

    Hmmmm....
    How about a HAMBER'S tail light sale ? ...
where WD57 only needs [1] tail light I bet there are a bunch of guys with [1] tail light on the shelf wondering what they would do with it...
Well here is that lowly tail light's night [nights] to shine at Trog beach !

    I'll go first...
I have a Yankee 256p reflex with plate light lens...
I personally had it zinc plated at work [GE] 35 years ago...
I did not fill any pits, they are plated over, kinda look like steel...
I think it has that "Cam Snapster" look .... and I only have [1]... $1.oo American.
