I was taking apart the rear of a 47 Ford 1/2 ton today, and the rear springs looked familiar. A little measuring showed me they are the same as 42 to 48 Car front springs. Only the spring pins are different. Henry Ford strikes again!

Wouldn't the Spring rate have been different though? Or did they just stack a couple of shorter ones with it?

They used two in the back, where the higher spring rate was needed. There are the same number of leaves.

    Thanks Frank,

What is the leaf width and eye to eye length on those springs?

Enjenjo can you do me a favor if you still have the bed on can you measure from the bottom of the body line on the rear center, to the top of the bed. I’m rebuilding a 47 bed. Made a new inner frame and re did the lower section of the sides. I’m getting it back together and need these numbers to get it right thanks
