I saw a reflection of a face in the bathroom mirror this morning and some old fart was starring back at me, I don't know who he is but my wife keeps saying it's me, I can't possibly be that old coot! I'm not a kid anymore, I proved that earlier this week when I tried to prove I ain't too old to ride a skateboard, lets just say I proved that I am indeed too old to ride a skateboard as I layed sprawled out on the pavement. I am not too old to keep building hot rods and enjoy trying to wear them out, If your burnt out take a break, go on vacation, go fishing or take a road trip, but do it in a Hot Rod or Custom! HRP
Hello, Sometimes, one needs to see the immediate future and how much it is going to whack you in the face. We never looked far into the future as 20 somethings, knowing how the world was back then. We just survived as well as we could and stuck together. Yes, there was more energy and we did rebuilt a second 40 Ford Sedan Delivery. But, we just did what we wanted to do and not give a s#!&&& Weren’t 20 somethings back then the “rebels of the time?” Our philosophy back then was just live and enjoy life. But, as life rolled on, our family expanded and there was more responsibility, we all adjusted to the times. Jump up many years, our son has his own life, and we are on the downhill side of our family enjoyment. Did we plan for his college and our retirement? Not really, it just happened and we had enough to add in an additional cost per month for his expenses while studying. Retirement, also, just rolled right into our lives. Jnaki Reflect is what you do when something need adjusting. We were not hoarders or had gobs of money socked away for our future. The present lives, during all of the years of being together, were more important to get through it one way or another. Now, we are downsizing and doing projects for the last time to cruise into the endless summers we have enjoyed all of these days together, since our early 20s. We did have a condo at one time and it was great…no yard, no outside upkeep, it was enclosed living, but enjoyable. It was an investment and now it is has been unloaded with its pitfalls. It had a two car garage, so if a project was going to happen, there was space. Not a lot of space, but enough to work with it. We have kept our lives relatively simple. Not too much outside responsibilities and will enjoy what life has to offer us through the eyes of our granddaughter. As she heads to the high school and college years, hopefully we can continue to contribute to her expanding life. Kids are the future. So, with some lyrics in mind: “I get by with a little help from my friends” (grandparents)
