Pics and results on Goodguys website. Michael Tarquinio won with a 32 roadster. Its on the cover of the new Rod & Custom Dec. 2011
The car was said to be built as a "WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN" type factory build if Edsel Ford had his way with Lincoln in 1932. So everything on the car is Lincoln stuff but with this kind of money wrapped up in a build I would have actually put a Lincoln V12 in that son of a ***** with a polished LA Edelbrock 2x2 intake. The car is beautiful though and I drooled over some details in Detroit.
is this the show that the root beer brown 32 deuce that was stolen was competing with? if so, im all for the 32 that was stolen.. and i agree the 12 would of been sweet. either way this car is nice.. and i would be proud to own it.. rock on. chris. ps any interior shots?
yeah thats the show but on a good note the 32 was found this morning in a driveway of an empty house untouched.
that speedo is cool. whats it from? i like how it has all the info in one spot.. really cleans up the dash. well let me rephrase that.. what year Lincoln did it come from? 32? chris.
I asked in the other thread about the hot rod garage coupe that was stolen but I didn't get an answer. Why was it inelegible for the HROTY compe***ion? was it unavailable for judging due to being MIA? The Zephyr inspired roadster is cool, but not a hot rod IMO. That is a street rod. Don't get me wrong, I am not running the car down. It is beautiful, just not what I would call a hot rod.
I believe you have to compete in a small reliability run, drag strip deal and the show part. If the car was not around it could not compete.
Everyone has a different opinion of what hotrod should be but in my book the primered 32 sedan in the avatar of the above post of bpaul34 is a real hotrod. That thing sounds like a NHRA super stocker at idle and he drove the 100 miles, set fast time at the track and pulls the left front wheel while doing it, now that a HOTROD. The roadster that won is real nice but they do call it the HROTY award. That sedan is bad ***. He drove it and its FAST.
Any way you look at it the rod is *****ing. As to the olds so what? I would have left the olds valve covers on though because in the day that was a regular swap from the old flattys. Fake Id's on motors slay me any way so if you aint proud of what you have change it to what you want period!
Humm? Do you know what's really cool? You have one helluva HOT ROD and only 9 posts on the H.A.M.B. ..just sayin. Here's the view in my rear view Friday.
