Interesting to see it has what appears to be a sedan delivery-only door, surprised Ford would spring for a special stamping and not just force a 4 door front door in there. Neat car, I guess I was aware of them existing but never really looked at one.
Back in '71-'72 there was a fella that had a '46-7-8 Marmon Herrington 4x4 Sedan Delivery. I always like it and thought it was probably ultra rare. No, it wasn't a panel truck either! This was in Prineville Oregon. It was at Sharp's Super Service quite often, which is where I was working. Dave
According to info on the Ford truck enthusiasts board there were 3187 sedan deliveries built in 1946. That's a pretty good reason that you don't see many around 76 years later.
It's been on CL up here for a month or so. Tried to talk my Sister into it , she does antiques. Goodluck with it !
Nope. They just kinda rolled the body over the frame. Look at a coupe, they are the same basic design.
4K for a more than interesting project that you can probably stick a correct for the model flathead in and have it going in short order after giving the brakes a full going over and attention to detail. It looks like it has later pickup 15 inch wheels and hubcaps on it. A set of more interesting hubcaps and done there. Still for the asking price if it has been for sale for a while you have to wonder why it hasn't sold.
Ive been watching that for sale for a while. Im not really a panel truck/ sedan delivery guy but for the money I wonder why it's still sitting. If it were a little older it would be on my trailer.
Some of the vending machine companies around here used sedan deliveries. My Brother called them "Cigarette Trucks".
"Looks" complete and solid, hard to tell if it's had bodywork over time. Complete goes a long way on the unique models. Id say go check it out. If it's been listed for a while see what the in person price is.
