Does anyone know a company that might make a tire like this one? I want to clone my dad's dirt car and do exhibitions and it'll need some sneakers like this....already have Coker checking..

If memory serves me correct, those were mostly recap/retread tires. They were originally meant as passenger car/light truck tires as winter snow tires that lots of us used in the midwest. They did find their way to lots of lighter weight coupes/sedans/modified/sprints.

Just after posting, the word "Suburbanite" hit me. Yes.......I found a google search shows a picture of an ad for Goodyear Suburbanite winter/snow tires with that exact pattern. From both my dealership and dirt racing days in late 1950's/early 1960's, I still think they were also being produced as recaps/retreads as lots of tires were in that era.

Lots of truck tires and recaps were used. When slicks like M&H came out, they were also used with hand sipping. Gary

  7. The small town that I grew up in (Ripley, WV) had a tire shop (Fetty's Tire's) that had several recap machines in the 1950-60's. I remember the sights and smells that originated from the shop when George Fetty was recapping. The local dirt track guys always ran Fetty's recaps in a tread pattern referred to as "mud grips". By the early '70's the recapping stopped and Fettys' was a Denman tire dealer. Sadly, all that's left is my memories as George passed away several years ago and the building has been repurposed to an auto repair shop.

Check with Marsh racing tires in Arkansas . They started out with tires like yours and then went to cheater slicks.
