I have a buddy looking for a pair of 2 inch chopped '32 roadster windshiled posts. They are going on an original steel body.

They all look the same in the catalogs but he is wanting excellent quality, fit, and finish. Gonna need a windshield frame too.

Who makes the nicest on the market?

    Thanks, JH

  3. I have a pair from Westcott's.
Very nice, excellent chrome - they're from 1985 and are hanging in there just fine.
    I think Vintique made them.

Be aware when you order you can get them with and without tapped holes for mirrors.
Tapped drivers side only or tapped both sides for mirrors.
And also tapped for windwings both sides.

The tapped WW holes are not really noticeable if you don't run WW's, but it's a nice option to have.
I added WW's about five years down the road.

I have a pair of chopped 2" Deuce stainless steel posts on the 31.
    These from Speedway.
They are very nice as well and only come with the drivers side mirror hole tapped.
Since they are stainless there will be no problem drilling and tapping for whatever else you want to add.
Use a sharp/new tap and cutting fluid.

I definitely recommend tapping for a passenger side mirror.
I have cut-down Harley mirrors on my 32 and a new pair of them ready to cut down for the 31.

For the A runners, most times the A's use the windshield mounting bolt hole as a combo mirror mount/windshield stanchion retaining device.
    Said device being the mirror.

Most of the A stanchions are tapped 5/16 NF, but there's usually room to tap it 3/8 NF for the mirror shank.
We did a set of those on my friends 28 A roadster.

Here's a pic of the Harley mirrors on the 32.
Even without a top, their slightly larger size does not overpower the styling et al of the 32 or 31 and make a big difference driving a car with top and mailslot rear window.
The Harley mirrors look fine on my friends full fendered 28 as well.

Latest Harley mirrors were purchased at P&J Cycles.
Mail order and they're an ok group to deal with.
