I have an Offenhauser dual carb intake for the 235 in my chevy, but I bought it used and it didn't come with a linkage, does anyone know a good source for one? Also, both carbs that I have to put on it have manual choke, how do you deal with that? do you just hook the choke up to one carb, or would I need a dual linkage for that aswell? Thanks, Haney
Delete the choke in one carb if they share a common plenum or if not run balance bar between the chokes so they both operate at the same time. you can make one out of a coat hanger in a pinch. Offenhauser sells linkage for your setup as well as many of the other induction manufacturers. You can also contact Vaphead here on the HAMB and get a killer deal on linkage for your setup, or Dmarv (an offy dealer) is also a good contact for all things go fast and what you may deem hard to find. If you know of a HAMBer of good reputation it is always better to support your fellow HAMB members as to suppoerting some other vendor.
Call Dan at Stovebolt. He has a very nice set up using a dual Weber Carter Carb. I have run this on my 235 now on my new 261. Auto chokes, linkages. My cost two years ago $400.00 shipping and all I will never go back to the Rockchesters.
I got the linkage for mine, hell I got all my solutions from Patrick's. They are the best, and I would hafta assume the linkage should work for both the Fenton and Offy intakes, also I am running the back choke only, just make sure to either remove the butterfly from the front carb, or just leave i wode open like I did. i have't had any problems so far, and actually I havent really needed to choke the car too much with the dual carbies anyhow...
