I've got a pair of aluminum 5 spoke wheels I want to put on the 55 Chevy.
Chevy has 7/16-20 thread studs > PROBLEM is one of my wheels has enlarged lug holes that look to be a 3/4 inch diameter...Most mag wheel shanks are in the .680 range which is a very sloppy fit...
I've seen wheels with "SLEEVES" pressed into them to correct hole sizes in WALLERED out holes but I can't do that.
LOOKING FOR EXTRA THICK WALL (close to 3/4 inch outside ) diameter lug nuts with standard 7/16- 20 thread > ANY OF YOU HAMBERS KNOW OF A SOURCE FOR THESE ???????
    THANKS, Joe

A parts house that had been around since the 50's had bins of mag wheel lug nuts. I'd check with old tire stores that have been in the same building for years on end. One may have some in the back room. Or sort through. Online sources.

I have done this by machining sleeves for the shanks. Slug

  4. Google shank style duplex lug nuts. What you are looking for are 0.740 shank diameter. Not real common but they are available.

  5. And your "wheelguy"! Sorry, just couldn't resist...............

I have a set of aluminum slots six lug wheels I bought from a guy out of state for a trailer. He told me they were in good shape but didn't mention that the lug holes were large like the ones you have. I never found lugs to fit them so I just bought another set of wheels. I am sure the guy knew the larger holes were a problem. I wasn't to happy with the guy but what do you do?
