https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/im-back-56-chevy-handyman-wagon.1043127/page-3 I'm not a tri-five guy, but I happen to be working on one that needs a handful of used (not new) odds+ends (window cranks, ash tray and other semi-crusty parts to match the car). I'd also rather not buy one part at a time and get killed on shipping on ebay and forums. Are there any companies or people out there specializing in used stuff? If you can turn me on to one or more, that'd be great. Thanks in advance. Scott.
John Thompson here in Lino Lakes Mn has been dealing in tri 5 cars and used parts for over 50 years. He is a great guy too... I will PM you his phone number
Go to the Spring swap meet in Carlisle, PA on April 19-23. Several vendors are always there that specialize in used Tri-Five Chevy parts. They usually bring lot's of parts for sale.
I'd say that the 90 mile run to Carlisle with a shopping list is your best bet. Not wanting the "perfect" pieces and maybe only concerned about color might work well with John Tompson though. He may want it in writing with your signiture that this is what you are requesting though as most Tri 5 guys are looking for for as perfect as they can find rather than throw away pieces.
Shoot me a PM and I'll get you in touch with George Geisler, a big Carlisle vendor. Used parts are his thing.
