I've tried Bob Drake. Though the stuff is listed in their catalog, you can't find it on their web site, and their phone is ALWAYS busy. Anyone got a source for this stuff? Looking to clean up the engine compartment wiring. Thanks, Mike
Brillman is good, also try Sacramento Vintage Ford, which lists out wire and loom and such as well as their line of harnesses. For some applications, certain early Ford stock harnesses do a good job of replacing much of your visible wiring with a replica finished harness. As a for-instance, a '41-47 generator harness will neatly and cheaply do all the top-of-engine wiring in an early Ford in one piece, running from coil and gen to the interior.
Doesn't DeSoto from here build Cloth-wrapped harnesses? I doubt if he's cheap but I'll bet the results are worth the money.
You looking for cloth covered wire, like factory stuff or the actual loom that fits over a bundle of wires? Painless sells some woven looking, lateral split loom, in 1/4", 1/2", 3/4" & 2" diameters. It's called 'Powerbraid'.
Rhode Island Wire sells reproductions of original harnesses/harness segments and even will replicate old stuff you send them www.riwire.com
Mike, i bought a couple of engine compartment looms for the '39 (one by mistake) one came from Sacramento Vintage Ford & the other was a Drake item. While they are identical in design one is of far superior in quality, the round plug on bottom of the column was the major difference i first noticed & when i looked closer the cloth insulation was heavier too! I can't remember which was the better right now but i'll look tomorrow & shoot you a PM. Kev.

http://www.bwire.com/ Try these guys, I heard they have some large looms, they are in the market of manufacturing wire mesh and wire cloth, so give them a call. I visited their shop a few years back and saw a few looms.
I was fooling around on the computer a couple of days ago and found a company that was selling cloth loom tubing that shrinks when heated like traditional polyolefin shrink tubing. It wasn't cheap but if you pick and chose where it's used it might be the answer for a traditional looking but modern product. I'll scrounge around in my browsing history and see if I can find a link if you are interested.
I use Del City, cheapest place I have found, and great product as well. http://www.delcity.net/store/Fabric-Loom/p_279.a_1
Check out Belleville Wire Cloth, If you are looking for the type of material that they make, they have plenty in stock and ready to ship today. http://www.bwire.com/ Good Luck
Mike, try Sac Vintage Ford. They will actually wrap wire harnesses with the actual machines from the Ford factory!
Not to be confused with DESOTO, but yes, as far as I know Skip still does it. I visited him once about 3 years ago. It was a pretty cool machine to see in operation.
I was going to purchase some relay sockets from Del but found out they have a minimum order that they will only process. They used to be in Atlanta, GA but have consolidated that store into one in Charlotte, NC. NAPA does list that product in their Wiring catalog. It comes in various diameters.
