Great old video! Short track dirt is some of the best racing I've ever watched. Two wheels or four, I love watching the drivers/riders deal with the *** end of the car/bike hanging way out around the corners.
Some short tracks are now turning their asphalt tracks back into dirt. The ribbon cutting ceremony after the track paving was interesting in that regard.
Cool video. I think the Burton Family (of Ward and Jeff fame) operated South Boston Speedway for many years. I'm pretty certain that both Ward and Jeff got their careers started there.
I have been there a time or two, but it was paved . Raised on dirt racing so I appreciate the video. Will have to show it to Dad. Thanks Ryan
That video reminds me of my wasted youth attending races at Lebanon Valley Speedway. Always has been dirt. High banked long and narrow 1/2 mile clay. How about more videos from any old track that ran coupes and coaches back in the day, PLEASE.
..........Jeff is fairly refined and doing booth work on TV now. Ward still talks like he has a mouth full of marbles.
