  1. Nice to see you back posting Quain. I saw the video of the wheel stander as well and wondered about that truck.

The guy that owns Baileyton dragway owns the red truck. It was built by his grand pa back in the 1960’s.

Working on the welding panels that I made for the new floor pans. The aluminum floor pans will bolt to these welded in filler panels. This pic is lower rear right behind the seat. IMG_3306.jpeg

IMG_3323.jpeg Rear corners tacked in place this is all designed to where the body will come off if needed in the future.

I made this metal filler panel to tie to the rocker panel. IMG_3317.jpeg IMG_3318.jpeg

IMG_3321.jpeg IMG_3321.jpeg IMG_3322.jpeg IMG_3320.jpeg IMG_3327.jpeg The rocker panel filler installed. Its welded to the chassis, the rocker will bolt to it so the body can come off. It’s a lot more work to make a body removable. In the last pic notice the 3/8” lip that is broke down for strength, where the aluminum floor will bolt.

I have to get the brakes in working order before I finish the floor pans because it’s easer to install the turn brake pieces with the floor out. I'm using Ford Explorer rear brakes because of the internal emergency break they have. I think I explained earlier in the thread that I’ll be using the emergency brake part for my turning brakes while the front wheels are in the air. In the pic you can see the jig I made to center the caliper mount so I could adapt the Explorer brakes to the old style 9 inch Ford housing end. IMG_3371.jpeg

Had to slot the holes a bunch to make the newer brake parts fit the old housing ends. IMG_3370.jpeg IMG_3372.jpeg

Anybody that follows my builds knows i had to fix the slotted holes even though they probably wouldn’t hurt anything. My fix was to weld thick AN washers in the new correct spot. Now I have to add a spacer to the bearing retainer plate to make up the difference of the washers. IMG_3375.jpeg IMG_3373.jpeg
