The opener for the Southeast Gasser Association is in the books. Weather was great, more cars running this year and a good crowd on hand all day. Enough of this blabber, here're the photos... The track, Greer Dragway, Greer, SC. Its's been around for 50+ years; definitely Old School. Some of the cars... Bad Willys, driven by Donovan Stott's Dad, Mitch (more on this later)... Guess what happened here... At the end of the day it was down to Donovan and his Dad, Mitch, for the whole enchilada. While I'd like to say that old age and treachery beat youth and enthusiasm, it was not to be on this day... I shot over 800 photos (my butt was dragging)...edited down to almost a couple hundred keepers that can be found at this link http://tombo.smugmug.com/Southeast-Gassers-May-2-2015/ 'Hope y'all enjoy them.
Just OUTSTANDING SHOTS!! Thanks so much for sharing. This is a great collection of real drag racing photos! Mikey.
seadog you are a true photographer - you are like a ghost - I seriously have only seen you 2x and you are always getting shots right in the middle of the action! Great stuff!
Thanks so much seadog for the pics. I contribute a lot of the success that the South East Gassers have enjoyed to you and several other photography for the great pic that have spread the word that we are here to stay. The detail of your pics also let the fans see that the cars in this group are not just old bodies draped over modern a chassis.
Sea dog I do have to correct you on one thing Mitch the old man won the finals you must not have noticed the red light in the kids lane.
Sea Dog, great pics, wish I could have been there, but life interfered. Hope to make SIM with BGII with slicks this time. If not then I'll try to come in my '40 coupe to spectate at least. You coming?????

For real? Damn I completely missed it. Thanks for clearing that up, although my version makes for a better story...
I'll be there, looking forward to it. I may know of a certain blue 5 window Deuce that'd like to try on a little BGII...
