    from Atl Ga

Bob Walker at Hot Heads/Power Play is in North Carolina, and he's heavily involved in Nostalgia racing, so he'd be a great contact (336-352-4866)
The have one at Bradenton, Florida, but I think Georgia is a better venue--more centrally located--an 8-12 hour drive here gets you up into Detroit, Chicago, and down to Miami. A 12 hour drive from Florida is Mid Tenn. and the Carolina, some from Texas, etc.
I'd go. My car doesn't run right now, and I'm busy setting up a swap meet, but if it's next spring/summer, my Wagon should be on the road by then, so I'd participate. If it's earlier, I'll park my *** in the stands for ya.

i agree with mr links there pal. NC is not the south east it's the mid atalantic first off. secondly i'm from alabama and my pops owns the Big A Dragway in Abbeville for years and the Albany Dragway in Albany Georgia for a while along with a bunch of cars throughout the late sixties into the early eighties when my folks split and he got out of it. your eye just weren't open to it i guess. hell what about Rockingham right here in nc. what about maxton for the speed trials?
ps jamie i forgot to tell you that theres a merc grille on ebay right now with about 5 days left and as of now the bidding is still low. check it out i know it's what you want and need...ken....

now to the issue at hand yeah i think i could go over well. there's one that goes on in south carolina every year and i here it draws a large crowd. there was one here in the uppper part of nc recently(henderson i think). if i'm not still broke from oral surgeons and rebuilding the nailhead in the buick i'd come...ken....

My vote is for Holiday Beach Dragstrip outside of Birmingham. It's 2 minutes off Interstate 20... and 20 minutes from Birmingham's Interstate 20/59/65 interchange... good central location. They have a website:

I'll be there wherever it is, just depends on the money situation. Hey luckystiff I grew up at that dragstrip in Albany, haven't been there in years though since they changed their focus. Been goin' there since I was a kid.

Count me in. Oh yes only 4 drag strips within 50 miles of my shop and add 6 more with in 120 miles. Yes we turn left but we can go straight to. If no conflicts I think Sam from Rocco and Cheaters Speed Shop will attend.

For those that can't seem to tell, my comment (left turns) was a joke. I grew up near Winston-Salem, NC, and I had very little exposure to drag racing. But I couldn't go anywhere without seeing NASCAR propaganda.

Please accept my apology for any offense I caused.

Gracie that looks like a cool dragstrip and it is in the southeast, but i'm not planning it so I won't stick my nose in that. I'll just try to be there, wherever it is!

I'm all for it as long as it's not ******** 1/8 mile stuff. A real 1/4 mile is what's needed. I don't know what the situation down there is but I do know that Rockingham has been much easier to work with since they lost a few races the past year or so. And what is the strip down outside of Atlanta? I believe it's 1/4 mile as well....

zman are you talking about the atlanta dragway? i think it is 1/4 but i'm not sure. if i remember correctly there used to be another peachtree dragstrip or something like that that my dad was gonna buy at one time but i think my mom got preggers with me about the same time so he backed out of it. and i'm with you no sissie 1/8 mile if possible. hell i grew up riding in drag cars before i could ride a bike. now i'm more amused by style than speed. i guess i got such a dose at an early age the speed thing backed off. don't get me wrong i still like the fast stuff too...ken....
