Jamie - I can do shirts pretty cheap - we won't put hamb on em nowhere so nobody get's there ******* in a wad.

you want to do a pinstripe design for the back. We can put "Reynolds Southern Foil Drags" or some **** like that accross the back over the top of the pin stripe, then we'll put a car similar to the rocco and cheaters decal on the pocket? I can do them for like 7 bucks a piece easy.

I got an artist that can render up what we give him.

What about everyone wanting to run chip in $5.00 and give it away to the fastest ET. Ed said that he would announce that the money was just for us weekend nostalgia racers, not the crowd there he normally has. And what other trophies do we need? A buddy of mine likes to make stuff out of pistons, distrubutors plugs etc. and that he would make us some. On Friday night and or Saturday night we can grill out. I have access to a large grill and ice machine. I will make some flyers tonight and post on my website, We are looking for sponsors who want to help. Just pm Jamie (Metalflaked60) or myself. Thanks Jimmy

You might have to shut off a little early. The roll bar rule kicks in at 11.50.

    SILVER DOLLAR RACEWAY
    BASIC TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
    FOR STREET LEGAL DRAG RACING
The NHRA Tech Department has put together the following "checklist" for participants. If you attended the last Project Street Legal Event we hope you have taken heed to the suggestions made by the tech inspectors and fixed any items listed. These are items that have led to problems over the years. We have learned a lot of lessons the hard way. Let us share that experience with you so you don't have to learn them again.

Tires: Tires will be inspected for overall condition (bare cords not permitted).

Wheels: All wheel studs, with full compliment of lug nuts required. (Broken studs/missing lugs must be replaced before racing.) Hub caps must be removed for lug inspection.

Lines & Hoses: All fuel, transmission, brake and power steering lines must be secure and free of leaks.

Radiator: Radiator overflow catch tank mandatory on all vehicles.

Driver: Must have valid state driver's license. Drivers under the age of 18 must have signed parental consent form. No shorts, bare legs, tank tops, bare torsos permitted when racing.

Helmet: Required in any vehicle faster than 13.99 seconds. Helmet must meet SNELL 90 or SFI 41.1A or better standards. (A label inside the helmet is proof of SNELL acceptance.)

Seats: Must be securely fastened to floor or frame with minimum 4 attaching bolts and nuts. (No sheet metal screws.)*
Seat Belts: All vehicles must have as a minimum, an OEM type lap belt system, securely mounted to frame or floor, per OEM.*

Batteries/Ballast: Batteries must be secured per OEM, or with minimum of 2, 3/8-inch diameter bolts. (No bungee straps, cords, etc.) Loose ballast is not permitted on the race track, so be prepared to empty trunks and interiors of all loose items. Spare tires, jacks, etc., must be securely mounted or must be removed. Tools, jack stands, coolers, loose speakers, etc., will not be permitted to go down the track. If you don't need it, or don't want to leave it unattended, leave it at home.

Neutral Safety Switch: All vehicles must be equipped with an operational Neutral Safety Switch. The Neutral Safety Switch prevents the vehicle's starter from turning the engine over unless the transmission is in Park or Neutral (or unless the clutch pedal is depressed on manual transmissions).

Nitrous Oxide: Bottles must be stamped as meeting DOT 1800 pound standards, and must be securely bolted to frame or floor (no bungee straps, hose clamps, etc.). All fittings, hoses, etc., must be compatible, from same manufacturer, vented to outside of driver compartment.

Roll Bars/Cages: Roll bar required in any vehicle running between 10.00 and 11.49 seconds (convertibles between 11.00 and 13.49); roll cage required in any vehicle faster than 9.99 (convertibles faster than 10.99). Roll bar/cage must meet minimum NHRA standards as found in current NHRA RULE BOOK.*

Motorcycles: Must have front and rear brakes, chain guards, snap-back throttle mandatory. Ignition cutoff switch, attached to rider with a lanyard mandatory. Any pressurized container (air shifter bottles, nitrous bottles) must be stamped as meeting DOT 1800 pound standards. Leather jacket, gloves and leather (above the ankle) shoes mandatory. Full face helmet labeled as meeting Snell 90 or better, mandatory. (Label is inside helmet.)

    * When elapsed times are quicker than 11.99 (7.49 in the eighth mile), specialized racing equipment is required. For example, when a roll bar or cage is required, so is an approved 5-point shoulder harness ***embly. If you know or suspect that your vehicle will exceed these ET limits, we suggest contacting the Silver Dollar Raceway Tech Department at 478 847-4414 or e-mail us at mail@silverdollarraceway.com with your questions. We want to work WITH you.

Don't forget 2 throttle return springs. I got hit with that last night at our local NHRA track. Also Slicks need a driveshaft loop.and hardened wheel studs. I watched a car go into the gaurdrail, because of sheared wheel studs, lastnight. Be safe folks:D Sparky

dumb question, but on the rules, in something like my 54 chevy, basicly bone stock and slow as hell, will they require me to have seatbelts? I can bolt the battery down, and make a make shift catch can for the radiator, but I only really want to go down the track to say "I really took it to the track and went down" it's not fast by any means, or shall i forward this to the track people email?

Figure on needing seat belts no matter what times you're running. I have some compe***ion belts that are expired. Usually they'll let you slide for one race if you promise to replace them before the next time you run. Let me know if you want to give them a try.

Woo Hoo- I just got my lap belts in the mail and I need to bolt my battery down. I got some sweet race belts from summit for like 35 bucks a piece. They will look way better than the GM knock off **** you see around.

I am working on the shirts - ya'll give me an idea of how many we need to get made.

This is a response I got from the track owner sorry.

    Jimmy,
I can sympathize with this man, but the fact remains that seat belts are a basic minimum.
    Thanks,
    Ed
