I think (could be wrong tho!) that there would be a better turn out in Springfield since there is more of a draw for people from out of town. There is MUCH more to do here than in Bolivar IMO.

If it was just a show and (sort of shine) affair, how about the Lucas Oil Speedway. Come out, put on a show and then stick around for some of the best old school dirt track racing in the Nation (as we like to call it). Check out the facility, they call it the "Diamond of Dirt Tracks" practically nascar facility on dirt 45 minutes north of Springfield, MO.
www.lucasoilspeedway.com I could make this happen...

I'm about an hour away from either Bolivar or Springfield, but I do think the Springfield area would be a better choice. I seems most of the replys were from people in that general direction, but what do I know, they might not mind the drive to Bolivar for something cool. Lets hear what you have in mind.

I have got the go-ahead from the Shine boys, I thought we would get at one end of the park or somewhere,I expect to have some?Dash plaques,BUT I am not really into the Trophy thing(seems to cause a lot of negativism) I cant do this by myself,But by using the help from the Shiners i might do it.THANKS

So, this is an existing Shriners car show that will have an area for tradtional hot rods and customs? Am I reading that right? Is there a year cut off for the Shriners show or is it an "open" to all years car event?

At first you got me real excited that this was going to be a brand new event geared toward traditional hot rods like BilletProof/Lonestar RoundUp/Jalopy Showdown BUT it really sounds like just another car show that wants to jump on the primered thing just to gain entrants.

Nothing against the Shriners, it's a great cause BUT what is going to make this event different then all the other "regular" car shows.

Yes, This is an existing show! The Shriners Show is open, with several classes. I am not just trying to jump in on a new thing just to gain anything! A few friends and myself are into this traditional primer fad.And with my work schedule its the only way i can do something like this now. Yes we will have an area for traditional rods and customs.WHAT makes this event different is haveing YOU attending!

This might be a good "test" show to see if there is a good turnout, so possibly in the future to have a traditional or "old only" show.
    Just another idea.
