Went down to Daytona Beach Tuesday and stayed at the same motel I always stay at (15 years). It is across from the BelAire Plaza. That is where the action is at night.

Boones and his wife stayed at the motel next door. Duck, SawsAll and SoWhat checked in at my motel. Nice folks. I saw a lot of HAMBers but am sorry with names. I did run up on a old 32 running buddy.......Marshall ( Rusty Streamliner from GA) and his NEW wife.......a redhead.

Drove the old 40 coupe 1000 miles in just a few days......

More photos to come.......I am tired......

Hope you have something warm to wear back. I am an hour north and we have frost everwhere this morning [IMG]

  6. It was great meeting the So-What crew and all the Fla. and Ga. Boys. There must of been at least 20 Hambers there on Friday. I had a good time and got some much needed parts.

Yeah Voodoo...now you can get busy building the "Odessa RPU". Thank God for guys from Argentina with German accents bringing up 29 roadster doors! "Buenos noches mein heir!" [IMG]

Up untill this weekend I had met about 30 HAMBers...I think that almost doubled after friday!

I had a great time this weekend! I will definitely be back to the Turkey Run again. Too bad it got so damn cold. I left at 7:00 am this morning and cruised 80 mph the whole way home, it was pretty nice.

Interstate 95 was Hell coming home. Road construction, a few well placed wrecks and the holiday traffic made for a terrible mess. I must have walked 20 miles seeing everything in Daytona and around.. [IMG]

We got on the back roads and came on home at 55 - 60 MPH instead of sitting on the Interstate ...wait 2 minutes...move 1 foot....wait 2 minutes...move 1 foot....you get the idea.

I know that VWs are NOT traditional stuff here but I saw one most here would appreciate.

Those wheels are known as polished 5 spoke Empi style wheels. All the VW dudes want them. They are only available in 15x5.5 in VW wide 5 pattern. Made by Eagle alloys and cost about 95-125 each.

Not that I have ever messed with VWs or anything...honest. [IMG]

Randy, I was listening to the VW owner talk about it.. His dad owned the black 55 PU with the flames.. He found it in a junkyard got it running and put the polished wheels on it and has been rolling it as it... He did a nice flame throwing job also as did his dad's pickup

Hopefully SoWhat found a trailer to get the wagon home on.. and found some warm clothes for the trip home in the roadster....

Those VW PUs are pretty rare... good luck finding a tailgate or bed sides for it though... those things are rarer than rare.

Denise, I'll tell you what happened to the weener. He called me on Friday to bust my balls because I was stuck working here in cold rainy PA and his no working ass was sunning it up in FL! For that cruel cell phone call, the front end of his new 40 year old untested/undriven wagon mysteriously loosed up on its own! Which leaves it in the same condition of most of the vehicles that he drives every day. Ha! P.S. I think he said it needs a drag link or something. Getting a UHaul, roadster inside, tow the wagon. Everyones O.K. Him and Sue are heading home tomorrow.

Thanks for the update Larry. Glad to hear it's just a mechanical problem and not an accident, which first went thru my mind. Hopefully it didn't ruin his trip.

Thanks for sharing all the photos guys. I guess they're the next best thing to being there. [IMG]

larry, thanks for the update,, When I left I had offered my garage if he wanted to bring as far as Charleston until he could find a way to get it the rest of the way. I know he was also looking for someone with a car trailer that had sold there car.. Glad to see he found a way to get both home without driving in that cold weather... I feel for Sawzall (ok for his better half) for having to drive the windowless 40 in this weather... He built it - he can handle it....

I did see a few people in the Bellair Plaza parking lot Sat. night, (Duck, So What, 46Mopar...) but it would have been nice to meet everyone else, but a certain somebody made finding everyone a little difficult...

Deuce Roadster I saw that VW last week in Orlando, it must be a local jalopy, I love that thing.
Hey Mike did anyone get pictures of the horrible raping that $50 bought onto us poor Rumblers by the DragLinks?

I'm still reeling from that, I think I'm gonna need therapy.

  29. Being Broke - Sucks

    Being Drunk - Is Fun

Being drunk and broke when someone offers $50 to get naked = alomst priceless its worth about $50

I have never seen Nads get actually upset about something that was done to him except when my nekkid ass humped his leg and yelled oranges for $50.

  30. NO hex's on the wagon just my dumbass fault for takin an unproven car.
The RPU did come home. One of the Chopper Inc. boys was interested in it but did a swap for a bike on another truck. He thinks Billy may want it.
It was nice havin Deuce Roadster in the same Hotel. I always had someone cool to talk to.
