I want in, too! I just scored a 1st gen Chevy II in need of motivation. This has got to be the most underestimated engine developed in 20 years. I'm ready to play with one.

I know So Cal Speed Shop had a Colorado with the I5 they used for a push truck. It had a supercharger on it and was reported to be putting out 300hp. The 4, 5, and 6 are all the some motor in design. the only differnce being the # of cylinders. I was working casting the 4 and 5 block and the 5 head. They are discontinuing the motors in 2011 if I remember right. I have been wanting to use a 5 in something. I ust need to find something to put it in.

i just got a 67 camaro and have been thinking about getting them to do some work on a vortec 4200 for it. should be kinda cool.

The I6 is now officially a discontinued engine. There are still the I4 and I5 motors being built but from I understand they will be gone when the Colorado/Canyon are redesigned. For anyone that is looking for one of these, I have seen a place on E bay called Schram Auto Parts that sells these from time to time. They are located in MI.

    Hey guys,

No one has posted on this thread for a while. I thought I would add my experiences here. I put the inline 5 in my '55 Chevy. I love the engine! It's not a race car but it does surprise you with its power. I've driven across country twice now and managed 28-30 mpg at 75 mph. My engine is out of a 2008 Colorado and it looks great in my car. I plan on putting another inline 5 in my '50 Studebaker Starlight Coupe when I start on it. Haywire in Joplin, MO built the wiring harness for me. Ken did a great job and I would highly recommend him.

Exactly---no text/explaination at the website; How did they manage to run a distributor on an engine that never originally came with one?

Would like to see some pics of your '55, if you'd care to share...
