Hot Rods Space between rear tire and body

Hi!
I'm building a -29 Tudor. Its gonna be fenderless and dropped/channeld to about 5" ground clearence. I bought a really cheap Chevy ten bolt 8.5 rear axle whitout really knowing that much about it. Anyway, the space I have between the tire and the body is about 2.5/2.25" if I use the axle. How much space do you guys have? Pictures are appreciated.
