I sold several projects in the last few months and I decided on what to do with all the spare parts I have collected over the years: build a speedster from most of it. I have an old radiator that I had tested and came back good, parts of a few Model T frames, A few T rear and front axles, a T motor, and transmission, a pair of quarter elliptic springs, and steering column and brackets. I am going for vintage race car. Here is a basis of the idea: Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Looks like a good start to a good plan. My wife has been wanting me to put a T speedster together with some of the spare parts lying around, so I'll follow along.
Thanks to the photochop guru's, I have ideas of what to do. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Have a look at this thread, unfortunately he passed before completion. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/21-steel-roadster-body.556518/#post-7832431
I just got back into Columbus, hopefully I'll get some work done with the long weekend before I get back on the road. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Doing mock up pretty soon to figure out where to put what and would like input from anyone who wants to help, I am thinking of doing quarter elliptical springs all the way around and split the wishbones. It's a homage to the dirt racers of the 10's, 20's, and 30's, and just want to know what all you think about the suspension. As short as the chassis will be, I think the quarter elliptical set up will help stabilize the car, but want advice to be able to say I thought about every avenue, and know the options as well as pro's and con's.
