   I have a one wire alternator and when I hook up the battery the terminal sparks. If I disconnect the alt. it does not spark. When I started the engine today (first time), there was a big spark coming from inside the alt.. Anybody experiance this, or have any ideas? Thanx.

   Sounds like the diode pack might be grounded.
