Did I say I like "s****ing blocks"? Nope, don't like them. It's cheating in my opinion. What I did say is that all of this is a matter of personal opinion -- one is not more useless than the other.

Now, since it's your frame that you worked so hard on, who am I to tell you what to do with it? I prefer to drag the frame until it has to be reinforced with 1/4-inch plate steel, then drag that off too. Am I wrong? No. Are you wrong? No. I could argue that working on your frame is useless. After all, do you drive around with mirrors on the ground? But, it's not useless to you, so my opinion doesn't amount to much.

I guess the blocks are a compromise since once those are installed the only things touching the ground are the blocks themselves.

Sparks are fun. This one has a s**** piece of 2x3 tubing i had laying around welded under the frame. Its nice cos it only touches when the front is up and the back is down. When the front's down too it doesn't s****e so you can still cruise low.

I just want to add that dragging magnesium is a bad idea. Magnesium likes to ignite, and if it does, it doesn't like to stop. ***anium will melt before it burns, doesn't last long, but looks great. Hitch balls spark great for cheap, but look dumb if you can see them (IMO...). The best draggers out there add 1/4 plate to their frame where it hits, and replace it when it's gone.

FYI, to add a little science to the mix. The harder your car lays, the more sparks you get, but it's like adding skis to your car, it can get out of control if you're not careful. It only takes a couple drags to get the feel.

Why is it when there is someone trying to learn something...ask a question....it has to turn into some soapbox preacher political debate?

Did the poster ask which/who of you feel its cool or good or worthwhile? Whats the possibility that nobody cares? Hmmm.....

i wouldnt normally comment on this but if you choose to do this practice slow first i have seen what happens to draggers where idiots(not you) dont realize that they arent riding on their wheels hardly at all and destroy some pretty vehicles.........and themselves.........fences......parked cars........signs you get the idea.
