Yesterday was my birthday. Nothing so special about that but I had the opportunity to go to a car show/swap meet about 4 hours away from me in a beautiful setting in Double Springs, AL. My wife has recently acquired a new dog so she couldn't come with me. Sunshine, lots of trees, grass, a nice breeze and a couple hundred well done cars, most HAMB friendly. I was also able to put faces with names of some other HAMBer's that I'd never met face to face. It was a real pleasure to meet @56don and @B.A.KING. There weren't a lot of vendors but I managed to downsize my hoard of "valuable parts", to quote Don. Being the only one there to mind the stand, I couldn't get a lot of pics but a very nice Chevy parked directly across from where I'd set up shop. I'm not much on Chevrolet but this one could change my mind. Also saw a '48 Ford with a unique approach to changing the trunk. I've never seen one with a hatchback. I ran two lane road all the way back home with very little traffic and time to look at things. All in all, it was a very good day.
That black 57 "150" is my dream car just like that one but with Halibrands. I have a 57 BA but the 150's "oh boy". By the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Pat
Wishing you a very happy birthday !@alanp561 Enjoy a slice of water melon, while they are still in season !
It's nice to have a great day, on your birthday. Doesn't happen as often, as one gets older, but sure feels nice.
It was great to get to chat with you Alan. It was a nice day and fun to do a little socializing once again. I meant to wish you Happy Birthday, but forgot (oldtimer's disease) so Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday a few hours belated. Sounds like a great day. It's always a good day when you can disperse of a few parts that don't have a purpose in your plans and put a bit of cash in the kitty too. My problem is that I usually go home with more than I took but all different.
Wish I could have made it, maybe next year. Just too much going on this year. Looks like a good turnout.
And now, Happy Un-Birthday. Like you i'm not a 57 Chev fan, but, I like that one too. If I could have my pic of 57 GM, it would be A Super 88 with the J-2 Rocket. Ah the dog days of summer ......
