According to my Dish Network programming, at 12:30 AZ time, (Mountain, I think-this time of year) the show Legends of Motorsport will be having some kind of coverage of Bonneville coverage from 1956.
I'm sooooooo pissed at Cox Cable....discontinued my speed channel with their "expanded basic" package....I'm jonesin.
For the most part, you don't miss much without Speed, but every now and then there is a gem on there. This turned out to be a show they aired a couple years ago. There was an MG Streamliner that the MG team wanted to set a bunch of records with, so they made a 10 mile circle and set all kinds of endurance records, then they set a top speed record on the straight course. Class F is what they said it was. 1956.
yeah the "legends of motor sport" series focuses mostly (entirely) on the euro makes anyway... it was still an ok show i thought
Legends of Motorsport beats the hell out of the 1984 Daytona 500 that Speed Channel has such a hard-on for.
[ QUOTE ] I rarely watch the Speed Channel, since they changed into mostly NASCAR. [/ QUOTE ] That and powerboat racing. All they run is crap that is dirt cheap to them.
Last night were interviews with Isky and Hilborn!!! In yesterdays musclecar marathon, I caught a buch of early 60s drag action. What a ya mean nothing on Speed?
Not to go to far O/T put those speed boats that are a cross of slalom racing in water and monster boats seem to be on the Wicked Side of fun. Of course I like anything that has mega horsepower and 9 out of 10 people say,"You've gotta be F'n nuts to drive that!!"
