Its not very clear wheter or not you get to keep the car when its all over. Either way its a pretty expensive little adventure.

I would rather plow along at 120 in something vintage than a super high dollar race machine but I guess to each his own.

Somebody is smoking crack !!!!! Hell its not even a kewl car, its a freaking girlie *** mustang, you know they call them "pony: cars for a reason. Then it cost 1/4 of a mill, That what i like about this site and that is nobody on this site would buy that car then drive it cause the true men on this here site would freaking build it themselves then go faster than that girlie car. Now thats what bonniville means to me

    A little O/T,.....
When I worked for Gratiot back in the 70's I would get the same question time and time again form young guys coming into the store with that "kid in a candy store" look in there eyes,...... when they would ask me "how FAST can I make my car go?",....... I ask what kind of car they had, when they told me I would look em' squair in the eyes and say 200 MPH !,....
usually they would be in shock from what I just told them,..... they would ask Really ?,....... I say "yup!". They would go on "well what do I need to do that ?" ,............. I would tell em' just bring us your car and and $10,000.00 ( please adjust for inflation ),........ usually this would bring on the deer in the headlights look, then I would ask how fast can you afford to go? there responce would be like,........"well I got $150.00"........ I would say,........ "well let's start from there"

The auction does NOT include the car. You would only get the opportunity to drive it on a speed record attempt.

So who's to say that if you set it, they don't strap their professional driver in and break it?

You need to get licensed before attempting a 200+ run, right? I swear I read somewhere that licensing p***es are required before record attempts can be made.

for that price you could buy a car that could easily top 200...

i'd rather have a faster car than my nam in the books for at most a year....when i didn't put any effort into the the car(the real star of the run) what so ever...

    thats pretty dumb...

and they way they word the header is even worse...

About as useless as ***s on a boar hog.

Isn't half the fun on record timing, driving something that you were involved in? Couldn't you get the same freaking thrill from a trip to Cedar Point on a 30.00 ticket? I swear, this society is so engrossed in the idea that everything has a pricetag, that pretty soon you'll be able to hire someone to live your life, and keep the stories as your own. Download it straight to the brain, so you don't have to miss an episode of American Idol. Honestly as someone who wants to drive the salt flats someday, but only in something I was involved, if not solely, in building - I have to say I was slightly offended by the idea.

They could tell me I'm overly sensitive, but they're lucky - they can kiss my ***, and I can't.
