Fellow HAMBers, I have a question regarding the speedometer I am using in my Model A. I need to have a speedometer cable made that runs from the back of the speedo to my transmission. The speedometer is a 1935 Dodge Floating Power speedometer. It measures approx. 5 in diameter. I am using a TH350 Chevy ******. I need to know which ends I need on each end of the cable. I called a shop that makes vintage Dodge speedo cables and they were extremely rude and of no help. Hopefully the photos will be of some help for you. Also, if there is a HAMBER on here that makes cables, I would like to give them my business and have them make it. Thank you for your time and ***istance!!
We can make your cable and housing up no problem, just pm me or contact me by our website. Top nut is 3/4-20 inverted, bottom nut 7/8-18.
I had a similar problem with my late 40's Stewart Warner Wings speedo. I'm running a modern speedo now, so I've got a modern hook-up on both ends. I also did not want to have to swap out my modern speedo cable, because I'd have to dis***emble half of my car to replace it. I contacted Rusty (e1956v) at Speedometer Service in Colorado Springs, CO & he could not have been more helpful. He suggested that he make a 6" adapter cable that would mate to my old Wings speedo & the modern cable end. He made the piece & I received it in a very short period of time. And, IT WORKS! To top it all off, he told me not to send any $$ until I got the piece & was satisfied!! Plus, the price was very reasonable. Is this a breath of fresh air or what?
