speedway master cylinder

    has anyone used speedways under the floor manual master cylinder and had problems getting good pedal? ive been through two and rebuilt one. four wheel drums with new wheel cylinders and rpvs front and rear. still cant get solid pedal.

    Glad I'm not the only one. I switched to discs up front and the pedal got worse. Tech dude told me to bleed 'em some more. Not worth losing my life. I think I'll switch to a wilwood or some other master besides a Speedway.

    I'm on my second one...They will replace it for free...but it's a $20 Mustang II unit, so it's hardly worth the effort.

    BTW...The pedal got better, but not by much, and I left the ****py residual valve out this time.

    The one on my coupe works fine...same set-up but with F1 fronts instead of 40 Fords.

    I have used two of these, and aside from the ****ty threads that nothing seems to fit, they worked good, are you using residual valves?
    heard lots of bad about them though too so I dont know........:confused:

    Is that the 3-bolt mount one???
    Can ya mount a 2-bolt one instead? Like a '67 Mustang? What brakes are ya runnin'???
    Did you use new rubber brake lines? They could be "growing" when lines build pressure if they are old......

    Yes i had 2 leak past the cups onto the floor.Might want to take it up with Speedway they have had a few calipers and master cylinders bad lately.

    i usully dont use rebuilt masters but had to recently sooo i thought i'd pull it apart first couldn't believe the **** in it evan some pieces of hair and old grease cleaned it up havent tried it yet thou
