Only good experiences with Speedway for me. They took back nearly $600 worth of brakes that I mis-ordered (probably 50% their fault). Refunded me plus return shipping FROM AUSTRALIA.

Won't hear a bad thing about their service.

I'm almost sorry I brought it back up. I was just trying to point out that we all need to tell them to become an Alliance Vendor when we check out.

I'm glad to find out there are so many that SELL their parts that ARE AV's. Is this in the AV listing? Maybe we need a HAMB O Dex just for AV's so they can tell us what they really sell? Maybe I just missed it and didn't do my homework. I'll definitely shop around through my AV contacts. My order was only $100 this week but that will be the first of several I anticipate.

Now, tell Speedy Bill to become an AV or we'll all take our business to those that are!

I have had mixed results with Speedway. Customer service, shipping and returns policy is great but parts quality has been really poor - crap Chinese bearings and components, badly made, ill fitting parts and things they should never do - rethreading metric threads in brake calipers to Imperial, not supplying the fittings and not mentioning anywhere in the instructions or in their literature that they have re-threaded, let alone fucked up the threads. I have had to re-engineer many parts to actually fit. That is precisely why they need a good return policy.

As someone else posted, if it is not a name brand item it may be and usually is crappy quality.

Also last year I called about a Walker radiator for a '40 Ford. They said they had a few in stock. I called five days later to order and they told me there had been a price increase - of $120! They flat out refused to sell to me at the originally quoted price and when I asked them to confirm that this was a new delivery and not 'one of several' they had told me they had in stock five days previously, they would not. Since then, when they tried to price gouge me on an old stock item, I have avoided placing business with them - several thousand $$$ worth. Whenever possible I have found alternative sources, sometimes the suppliers who supply Speedway. I guess what really pissed me off was their 'if you don't like it, screw you' attitude.

I was a machinist at Speedway for 5 years and I definitely agree with a lot of you, the name brand parts are great but a lot of the Speedway/Mr. Roadster brand parts you have to be wary of! Lets just say I remember lots of our raw parts coming from India, even had a few batches of cast spindles that would shatter so we had to junk them all!

I used Gas Alley Street Rods out of Kansas, speedway dealer, the prices were a cheaper, and plus here a couple weeks ago speeway had a recall on some calipers that i had bought and G.A.S.R. called me personally to let me know and and what was going to happen.

Had a few problems but they were taken care of to my satisfaction. Will continue to use them - would be great if they came on board.

I also am a Speedway dealer, And a alliance member, Speedways margins are low for dealers, Don't expect to save a million dollars...I have only had one problem with a bad part, some threads were gulled on a set of hairpins, I had a brand new pair in 3 days....
