They wanted me to upgrade shipping to UPS to get it faster. They also offer for a few bucks more ontop of the original shipping price of UPS to get it quicker. I`m an hour and a half away.

It’s just like buying stuff from Harbor Freight. You have to understand what you’re buying, and use it accordingly. If you buy a 4 1/2 inch grinder for $9, it’s not going to be as good as a $59 Makita grinder. But if you don’t bog it down and get it hot it will last a long time and as cheap as they are you can buy three or four of them and you don’t have to changefron flap wheel to cut off wheels, wire brushes etc.We buy a lot of sprint car and dirt midget parts from them. AN fittings, AN lines, replacement Nerf bars, bumpers, front axles, all seem to be OK stuff. but I’m sure most of the not name brand parts the sell as a cheap alternative to the name brand stuff is definitely not the same quality as top-notch USA built. They were known for taking a good quality USA part and then making a cheap knock off of it and selling it cheaper than the original. Wasn’t it Limeworks that they copied the steering column’s from I think I remember. But we still buy a lot of namebrand stuffWinters, Wilwood, Russell AN fittings, stuff like that it’s just good price and fast. Some things you just have to stay away from, I wouldn’t buy a speedway brand drop the axle for any price if they sold them.

    Stick with name brand stuff.
Primary example is Speedway dropped axle and a name brand.
I ordered a Speedway (off shore) axle and it is junk. The web is 3/4" thick.
I'd post a picture but I gave it away.

Ordered all my rear suspension from Speedway. Had all the parts in 3 days, free delivery. They have been ok for me.

Speedway Motors is a great source, customer service is excellent, I'm a longtime customer, pretty sure I bought my T bucket body from them in 1967, only a few items of Many purchased through the years that I was not happy with, returned them, no problem. A warning on SpeeDee delivery, not anything to do with Speedway, had a bad experience with them years ago, their customer service is crap. UPS or FedEx rarely an issue, customer service excellent. Also I have used Summit, Jegs, Yogi's, RockAuto with good results, A Tip most know I think, is always read/ask what is the return policy on any items purchased anywhere, use credit card or PayPal so you have recourse if a problem, I have used eBay with good results which eBay seems to be a dirty word here. Agree with brand name products, amazing how many of those are manufactured overseas now and as always research subject/part of your interest. Good Luck, Enjoy the Hobby

I've used Speedway, Jegs, and Summit for years and I've had very few problems with any of them. I will say, a lot more of Speedway stuff is name brand now. 20 years ago all their stuff was offshore and super crappy. Now a lot of their stuff is name brand and first quality. They've come a long way. I order almost every day and shipping and customer service is second to none. Go for it. You won't be disappointed.

As far as offshore parts go, everybody who wants to stay solvent these days does it. Have you been through an Ecklers, (post Macs), catalog recently? They are honest in that they tell you what is imported parts right in the part description and sometimes give you a US made option. Huge difference in quality.

i've ordered a lot of part's from speedway over the last 30 year's, there economy part's alway's needed some kind of modification but you expect that for the cheaper price no free lunch there. when bill died a few year's ago i thought his boy's will either sell or run the company in the ground. i think the quality of all offshore part's has gotten even worse over the last few year's

  8. Speedee delivery comes out here as well, we are fortunate. Great fast service. A note to HAMBers, Speedee is not related to Speedway. They are a family run regional carrier.

Wow, I don't think I expected this response, it seems to be 90 percent good. I will have to give them a try.
    Thanks

I didn’t even know they made hotrod Ford beam style axles, I wouldn’t use one of those. We use their midget and sprint car axles. When we need them fast to get the cars back up and going in a hurry, I get the impression they are made locally not overseas, and seem to be as good as the ones we can get from the chassis builders here Maxim And Boss and Ripper chassis are all built here locally.
