Nice, photos Terpu. I took the week off to go and am stuck sitting at home due to the cost of gas.

Per Rich Venza: Even the SCTA site was pretty bare this morning! It's a bit early to expect anything to be posted there as they usually don't get much posted except new records for a couple of weeks after the meet.

It's 9 am here meaning it's 10 am on the salt so things are probably just getting going good on the first day of real racing.

Really cool bellytank with a hot flatty.

My friend Josh (Josh Higgins here on the HAMB) is working pit crew on this rig. Can't wait to hear how it does.

The big issue with getting pictures to you guys is the lack of internet access here. The casinos don't have wifi or even wired access in the rooms, guess they want people to be in the casinos and gamble. Finally found access thanks to the guys at Ohio State University.

Will be here until Saturday, will update each morning for those that cant be here.

Attached is a picture of Jim Sheridans 31 RPU from San Diego CA. shot this AM

    Thanks :D

  20. The splitter and flat bottom look cool, BUT it basically turns the tank into a wing ie. flat bottom+curved top= lift and that's just what you don't want on any car in the Salt.
Please keep us informed as to how this aero experiment shakes out.

Does it end on Saturday or Sunday?

  22. actually, it does the opposite. the natural shape of the tank creates lift, and the airdam on the bottom creates drag, holding it on the salt.

The underside of the body is similar in shape to an inverted wing and creates an area of low pressure between the car and the track, pressing the car to the track.

I know he ran 220+ last october on a shakedown run.

Salt2009, The Motel 8 down by the Red Garter has wifi. Are you coming down by the pit to hang out again tomorrow?

  25. This thing looks like a baboon with it's ass stuck out.......... with a big hemoroid hanging off it.

  26. Photo bucket is down right now. I will get some pictures loaded and get them on here.

Any one that could not make it, this is the best fucking year i have seen. There are so many cars here you would be blown away.

The meet and greet today was a good time and every one seemed to be having a real good time. Every one kinda left at the same time and it didnt last long.

  27. Been awhile, but you did ask... :D
