Hi folks, I came accross a pair of spindles / knuckles in my shop and can't remember the origin of them (I didn't know I had these). Can someone tell me what these belong to. Each side has 4 parts. On the pic there are only 3 but there is also a steering arm which is not pictured. The knuckle itself, a caliper bracket, the wheel pin and the steering arm bolted together by 4 bolts. I ıtried some of the numbers on the parts but no luck. Can someone shine some light on this. Thanks, Mustsed
Reminds me of the Rambler spindles we used on homemade trailer axles. Also have seen the Rambler spindles and disc brakes bolted on modified early Ford spindles in olden times.
pretty sure that's what it is, AMC from the early 70s http://www.socalamc.com/forum/index.php?topic=804.0
The 60s cars (like in my link) had the funky trunion thing at the top of the spindle, this might be later?
Thanks a bunch to all of you, looks like they came out of a early '70s Javelin. They came off of a '67 Mustang front and will be installed on the front of my '63 Fairlane with some simple lowering plates. AMX guys do it theirself and the plate is damn easy to make. Was almost trashing the whoole setup ;-(( Thanks again for the infos, Mustsed
