We shared this old photo from my husband Riley Player's collection on our Facebook Page, Utah Salt Flats Racing Association. We hope that some of you will visit us there. But, in the meantime, check out what we feel is one of the premier photos taken of Land Speed Racing at Bonneville. It was taken back in the 60s. Please feel free to save or share it if you like, but give credit to Riley Player.

Please do not use it for commercial use.

It said it posted - then it disappeared. I will try once more! Sorry.

That photo does catch the mood of Bonneville. I've been digging in the boxes for the photos I took in 1988 and 1998 but haven't come across that box yet.

You could do like we did and build a 32 by 48 garage. It fills up just as well!

  7. Four pretty awesome cars in this photo. Markly Bros tank, B&N Automotive modified roadster, Fred Willart's highboy, and Bob Herda's streamliner. Lot of history right there!

Thanks! I was sure about the Markly but not the others. Thanks for posting them.

Maybe, Dean, you can help us with this one too. Taken in the 50s with a Brownie camera.

  11. Great pics.
this appears to be the Spalding bros. roadster.

  12. The pic is before my time on the salt, but I agree, it appears to be Tom and Bill Spaulding's inline six powered roadster. I knew they ran it at the drags some, but was not aware it had evet been on the salt. It was originally built for running with the CRA on dirt ovals.

And FYI, we have a vintage Bonneville thread I started a while back for this kind of pics.

Thanks for all the information. It is appreciated. From now on, I will be happy to use Dean's Bonneville thread, so look for us there.
