i talked to pat from hot rod wheels on sunday and asked how much to make a set of split rims into a 1 piece rim. he told me about $125 a wheel. his pric eis a bit cheaper than stockton and he said he will use my centers and weld them into new (or newer) hoops. my problem is i have only seen him at swap meets but never heard of anyone with his wheels. he visits the glendale az swap meets and he said he is going to try and make it to the monthly swap so he would be willing to pick up and deliver so the transport cost is cut down. he seemed like a good guy when i was talking to him and when i showed him my wheel collection which he was impressed with, unless it was to make me feel good. anyone with any input about hot rod wheels i would like to hear whether - or + it is all welcome now while i make up my mind to make my wheels more reliable, although i like the risk factor involved with the split rim. here is part of my wheel collection
That is a nice wheel collection! What size are your split rims? $125 seems like a good price for shells with your centers installed.I am currently building some for my coe 8x20 tubless and reusing my centers, the new rim shells cost me almost that much. I may be building adapters for a gent wanting 10 aluminum alcoas 8x19.5
I need a rim cause right now i only have 5. Its your call on the engine trans. I thought you wanted it back. If you can get more for the fender and grill i will hang on to the engine and trans
