Can anyone point a newbie in the direction of a good thread on splitting wishbones?

I searched through the tech pages but couldn't find what I was looking for. I know it can't be as simple as cutting them apart and welding in a bung can it?

Really, its that simple. Just make them the same length and adjustable.

Yes it is, You didn't specify what wishbones you were using so there may be a slight spring hanger adjustment but with out knowing what you intend to do kinda hard to answer.

Splitting 31 AA wishbone. Planning on using rod ends

Whats the deal with RH vs LH? any plus or minuses, as long as you have your jam nut does it matter?

Model A and probably most can be split without adding bungs. The welded on part that joins the tubes has enough material to just drill and tap. Cut the part about an inch from the weld joint.

There are many ways of doing it your basic split kit you can get from almost any where is the easiest way of getting it done

I always like to drill 4 holes so I can rosette weld then run a full bead around. I also will pre heat the bong alittle bit before I weld right after I finnish welding I also stick the ends in a bucket of kitty litter so they cool as slow as possible.

  10. yes its that easy. speedway sales the threaded bungs that slip right in, then get some heims or tie rod ends and mount them on drop brackets on the frame,or in the frame if you want.

they sale kits but they are expensive for something you can buy the peices for and make your own.
