I haven't painted anything in a while, but it always seemed that there was never enough light inside my garage. I saw this spray gun light offered on Harbor freight and decided to try one. The problem is that they are never available locally and the nearest is always 100 miles away. I think they are a good idea but I'm wondering if overspray would tend to build up on the light. Anyone tried one of these lights?

I was thinking about getting one. Had the same question. Figured I could stretch some cellophane wrap over it. Replace as needed.
    Yes? No?
I like my headband flashlights though. I think the lighting from those might be better than being attached to a moving spray gun.

I guess I can't see any reason why not to have a light on both spray gun and person. Can't hardly have too much light.

I've sprayed paint using my small flood light. Spray gun in my right hand, flood light in my left hand. Really bright. But also really hot. Finally realized I could possibly ignite paint fumes. We don't do that anymore.

I think any light you can get when painting is good.

I agree. I look at the paint laying up on the surface and need all the light I can get. I should add that most times I am not in a booth (with wall lights). I am at the age where I wear reading glasses to paint. They always get overspray on them so I use the cheap ones from a chemist for painting.

The torch will get overspray on it for sure. I am keen to see how you go with it though

I'm making a HF trip today and also some painting. If they have one I'll pick one up and report back.

Just checked my local HF. They say they will have them "back in stock soon".

I have one from a different company,i like it but it takes some getting used to.It is not the answer to all our problems but it does help.It works best for color, with clear it gets hard to see any better.I hardly ever use it anymore,it is good for checking if you have enough paint on,it helps to show up any thin spots?
