I was thinking about purchasing a HVLP three stage turbine spray system to do my some priming and eventually paint my car with a flat color. I see a few of these on ebay and cannot purchase a compressor to setup at home because the neighbors will have problems. Has anybody used any of these before??

I know nothing about turbine systems... but just one thing to think about... if you have neighbors close enough to be bothered by the noise of a compressor won't they be more bothered by breathing carcenogenic paint fumes?

Probably not. More neighbors will complain about noise then smells.

I think I would just move...Who wants to live in a nazi community like that anyway. Or you could show them your gun collection before you start.

if the neighbors have problems, do it on a Sun am when all good people are at church

  6. I use a CapSpray 8100 3 stage turbine every day in my buisness ( I resurface bath tubs).I found it to be a reliable, low matainance unit(just change the filters often if the unit is used close to the work area) capable of spraying a viraity of products with good results.
However keep in mind it dosn't atomize paint like a conventional spray gun, so you will have to reduce your paint a bit more to get a smooth finish (less orange peel). The noise level is about that of a vacume cleaner. Good luck!

I bought a cheaper campbell hausfeld HVLP turbine with gun. It works pretty good but its louder than a vaccum. I have started building a new air compressor to have something better. I bought a used copeland 220 2 horsepower freezer compressor $40.00 from an appliance repair shop. Its dead quite and about the only noise it makes is from the air being pushed out. I'll let you guys know how it works once its connected to a tank but it shouldnt be any different than a true rated 2 horsepower compressor.
