Just thought I would p*** on a little tech tip here for removing old and rusted bushings from your springs or perches. You can try to beat them out all day long with a socket and a small extention but worked for me was cutting a slot with a hack saw blade in the bushing all the way down to the casting and then use your favorite rust buster. PB or Kroil or whatever you have. Once that groove was cut the bushing came out quite easily as it collapsed on itself. Hope this saves someone a little time and some skinned knuckles.
I take an old drill bit and drill down the edge of the rubber between the rubber and metal sleeve. Then run the drill in an orbit around the edge between the rubber bushing and the metal. This works surprisingly well and sometimes will actually eject the rubber bushing entirely.
I take rubber ones out with old hole saws. Pick the biggest on that won't hit anything important, and drive it in. It's a little hard getting them started, but once you get the hang of it, it goes well. If the bushing is too deep for the saw, flip it over and go at it from the other side. Once that's done, you should be able to drop out the center, and peel out the rest.
