Not sure if this helps you or not but I thought it would be nice to show what I did based on this thread...

Here's what I eventually ended up with..

DOM sleave welded through the bone, plates welded to sleave and bone, and perch cut and welded to the sleave and plates...

The project has stalled in a major way...

The steering arms have to be bent down for clearance. Right now the link hits the shackles. After the steering arms are bent, there should be enough clearance.

I made a bung to weld in the side of my wishbone(tacked for now). That way I can un-bolt my perch if needed. I took the taper off the perch and added some extra threads.

I realize this question was asked almost a year ago but I've put well over 15,000 miles on it and it has never once had any issues

@Paul I realise this is a VERY old thread - Im just trying to do as much reading as I can rather than start a new thread looking at the safest way to do an axle behind spring. Saw your contribution here and was wondering how did this work out for you? Seems a safer approcah than drilling the bones and sliding a perch through??

I drove it as a fair weather car for nine years without an issue.
sold it in 2014 and lost touch with the buyer, he sold it a year or two later, I don't know where it is now or if it still survives.

What is that linkage behind the spring perch on the wishbone?
