After a couple year de-rail its time to pick up where I stopped on my 37 chevy. I slapped a 57-59 Ford 9inch in to make the car roll so I could move. I need to finish the rear end install but had a question... The spring perches on my rear are wider than the factory springs. The perches measure 2.5 wide and the springs are 1.75 wide. Is the difference in width an issue or is once it is bolted down it will stay put?
It has gut not ever be a problem but it tends to break the center pin off. You can build a saddle for the spring to sit in so the u bolts and everything is all tight together or get new perches from a trailer axle place
20 bucks for the pair. It says 47/54 Pickup but I think the offset is the same on cars and trucks for the offset hole to center the axle in the wheel well. https://www.cl***icparts.com/1947-54-Weld-On-Rear-Axle-Seats/productinfo/93-317/
