Looking over my little '34 Austin Ruby, its quarter elliptic rear springs won't work well with my narrow rear axle so I think that twin semi-elliptics would be easier. The frame kickup in the rear sticks up sort of like a T bucket. Every stock rear spring setup I have ever seen has the springs somewhere near level. Can anyone see ant reason why mounting the rear shackle end higher would pose a problem?

  2. Longer the shackle the sloppier the cornering will be and it'll wear out the spring eye bushings faster.

Not going with long shackles, just concerned with strange angle on the spring. Also, pinion angle isn't a problem either.

Why not just use a set of coilovers?

I'm cheap. It's a small car and I have these springs left over from a small trailer project that didn't get built.
