I got a call last night from a guy that I do a lot of freelance work for. He owns a company in Springfield, MO, and was asking me about the idea of working for him full-time. The main thing I am interested in is the hot rod community there. Any HAMBers live there, or ever lived there before? Please share what you know. (I'm not convinced that I want to switch jobs, but just curious.)
Well, the Southwest Mini-Nats is held there every year. The original Bass Pro Shops is there and it is the home of Grizzly Tools. Also, there is a large swap meet at the fairgrounds every year. That's all I can tell you about it. RASHY
Your just a few minutes from Branson, Cruisin Branson Lights, and your not to far from the Hanging Dice Nat.'s
When is the Branson deal? I was thinking I might visit Springfield at a time when there was a decent car gig close by. Isn't it in Aug or Sept? Thanks for the input, yall!
Springtown's OK. I live a little over an hour NE on I-44. It's supposed to be the 3rd or 4th largest city in Missouri, so if you're used to larger city sprawl, then it's good. It doesn't take much to get out of there though, all kinds of rural areas around, if you're into the small town thing. And there's always good old tin around, if you're looking for a project.
So which would be your pick if you can only do one: Branson or Hangin' Dice? I don't care about the non-car stuff in Branson (or anywhere else!), so I'd only be going for the cars, either way.
