OK. I got through this. Nice build, lots of great information, and pictures. The shorter version looks a lot better. Glad you are having so much fun with it and you seem to have access to some land to play.

Glad you approve SB, it all started as just a way to keep all my spares in one place and something to do during covid lockdown, I never expected it to be anything more than a static display at local shows.

It has been so much more fun than I ever imagined when I started, the most amazing thing that I thought could never happen is that Racer 77 has been accepted to run on Pendine Sands this year!

Too long ago, I don’t remember where I found the photo. It has a hard bend down for the front frame horn just like the frame of the Garrick car, but the casting on the front for the original spring mount is different. You can also tell it’s been modified a lot, with new side mounts and the hood lip extension on the inside. Might be all custom construction?

Thanks, It reminds me of the frame on a car I never should have sold.

I don't think it's an oem stocker. I was going to say it does look like a hand-hammered frame from the 20's, maybe the early 30's. Looks similar to Miller-style. I'd guess the axle is Franklin or Miller. The riveted cast-ends look like his type of work. If that is a replication - somebody sure did a very nice job on the recreation. Wish there were more pics(esp detailed) of the whole chassis & car. I like the style. Now I'm wondering if it was one of the last couple of Dan Webb-created cars? ???

Well the Saturday was a bit foggy and only a few unofficial runs got run.

Luckily the Sunday was bright and sunny and more runs were packed in than ever before, and great fun was had.

Good news is the big four bladed fan I'd fitted meant it didn't do its usual boiling up trick once, bad news it used so much hp I didn't win a single run all day! o_O :D:D
