I was talking to the guys from Schroeder Racing about the Spring car steering boxes. I was interested the boxes but concerned about the quick ratios, as they are only available in 6:1 and 8:1. They suggested that I look into a ratio adapter that would go between the steering column and the steering box to increase the ration to somthing like 12:1 or 16:1. Has anyone here seen or heard of this type of thing and may possibly have an idea on a source. Thanks Eric
Summit Raceing or any number of stock/Sprint car parts sources. They'are a kinda neat little gizmo, you can decrease or increase ratio by swapping them end for end. Made by HOWE they run about 150.00
Go to this web site. http://www.bicknellracingproducts.com/ Go to catalog, then to steering section. Steering quickners are on page 4. You'd use it in reverse. Also on page 3 is a 14:1 sprint car style box made by Profile. It's power ***ist. Not sure if ya' can run without a pump. Profile makes good stuff, and they're not too expensive. There's several quickners on the market. Howe and Afco come to mind. Think outside the street rod/hot rod window when it comes to looking for this stuff. Go to ******** racing sites to find what ya' want.
